- Short Description
- South Devon UTC will be the area's first University Technical College, offering learning opportunities for 600 young people between 14-18. The college has been built on a challenging site in Newton Abbot, and will specialise in water, engineering and the environment, to help boost the numbers of technicians in the area. The four storey 4700m2 facility with a full height atrium is also the first rural UTC to be constructed. With innovation and sustainability key to the features and build process, GTEC Weather Defence, which has a fully recyclable gypsum core was chosen for the frame based construction methods, to provide a faster way to weathertight and airtight the building.
